THIS WAS JUST AWESOME BECAUSE NOBODY REALLY TALK ABOUT HOW PENINNAH MUST HAVE FELT....DEALING WITH REJECTION AND NOT BEING LOVED BY HER HUSBAND THE WAY SHE DESIRE TO BE LOVED, THATS WHAT REALLY CAUGHT MY ATTENTION. SHE WAS IN A BAD SITUATION AND THE ONLY WAY SHE KNEW HOW TO RELEASE HER HURT WAS TO PROVOKE HANNAH BECAUSE SHE HAD NO CHILDREN. NOT SAYING THAT IT WAS RIGHT BUT SHE WASNT GETTING WHAT SHE NEEDED FROM ELKANAH.

That is because that statement; ” I Love You, I want to spend the rest of my Life with you" should come from HIM..if you want this to work! Back all the way off. He has got to show you that he is in this 100% with you and that his life will never be the same without you! Short of that, you are always going to feel this way, not matter what you do!

Yes, this blog has spoke to me. I have been dating this guy for going on 3 years. In the beginning I allowed my situation of my 3 kids, bad credit, klunk of a car, and babydaddy drama; keep me from fully opening up to him. I felt that If I displayed certain acts of love, that I wouldnt have to surface those things and could fix them before he ever knew. He is truly a Boaz, victim of his emotions and me taking the lead. Now here I am frustrated and feeling under appreciated because Im the one always giving. Neither one of us wants to walk away, its suprising how far Respect for one another can take you. I just know that what I have done is the cause for the rut that we are both in right now and I dont know to fix it. Me coming out saying " I Love You, I want to spend the rest of my Life with you" almost sounds insulting with nothing to prove it with.

Hi Dj! Loving your post! Yes, Hannah went straight to God about her situation. He blessed her with more children because of the promise and sacrifice Hannah made.

20Then Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife, and say, "May the LORD give you children by this woman for the petition she asked of the LORD." So then they would return to their home.

21 Indeed the LORD visited Hannah, and she conceived and bore three sons and two daughters

So many women live in this world of frustration even today! Some suffer in this situation from God fearing men and others that may not be saved. From a church perspective, women have been told to "stay in there baby", the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the believing wife. WOW I believe the word, however my advise to women who find themselves in this situation is to totally trust God for deliverance and seek his face daily on the answer. Some think that bible (GOD) requires us to live a frustrated life, no love, no money, no affection, no nothing. I believe that God would have us to be prosperous in every area of our lives and that surely includes our marriages.

Lack of love from your husband leads to low self esteem, lack of self worth, etc. Only the strongest of strong women survive these types of relationships and have productive lives.
They have "LEARNED" to love God with all of their hearts and trust in HIM for their validation. God is the only one that can fill the void when your husband doesn't. Now, what did Peninnah really want? What was in her heart? Sometimes what is in our very own hearts is what keeps us from receiving the very thing that we think we need in order to survive. Was she looking for love or total domination of someones soul?

I would hope that women would look at the example that you have shared and choose not to provoke anyone. Stormy Omartian said it best when she said, "GET OUT OF YOUR HUSBANDS FACE, HIS MISTRESS' FACE - and GET IN GOD'S FACE!"

I believe that is what Hannah did. She was frustrated too! She was distressed and sorrowful. How many times have we been in situations where we are persecuted, laughed at, made fun of? Did it push you to the altar for relief? I know Hannah felt bad to have to look at Peninnah and her children day in and day out. But did this situation make her bitter with Peninnah? Was she the one that persecuted Peninnah? Nope - she wanted a child and I believe that God knew what was in her heart and what she would do once she received her answer. Her heart was to please God! So much that she weaned her child and took him to the temple and gave him back to God. What a woman!!

Just my thoughts!
